Just wondering if anyone has replaced their fridge in the kitchen on a 340Da / 375 2005 model ?
1. Did it fit through hatch door without removal?
2. What make and model replaced with?
3. What was the process of replacing ?
4. Is it frost free in freezer?

Mine is still working but the bottom of the door doesn’t close properly (have to close bottom with foot) and the freezer door is broken due to frosting up.

thanks

What model fridge? Does it get and stay cold? All of these fridges ice up (even the new ones), they are not frost free.

I have a 20 year old Norcold DE-461. I need to close bottom of the door with my foot, and it needs defrosting once a month. But it gets cold and will keep ice in the freezer for months. Its just the nature of the beast. You might want to live with it as is until it dies completely, as a new fridge is not cheap or easy to replace.

If you do replace, it can be done. Neighbor on the dock just replaced (for second time in 3 years). Took 2 guys all day and $3k. Had to remove the door and a bunch of trim. According to them, each sea ray is a little different making each job "custom".

Others have done it themselves. Not a fun job.

"Custom". Ha. I've heard rumor that the 400/410 was built around the galley fridge :)

I talk nicely to my Norcold. Not looking forward to the eventual replacement...

I believe they dropped all the appliances in the hull before putting the deck on top and sealing her up, so yeah.

wow that’s crazy. I appreciate the heads up.
for that money I can live with it as it works really well. More cosmetic than anything. I didn’t think it would be that huge of a cost but then again I’ve only been boating for about 6mths and learning each time I get in the boat there is $$ to spend. Lol

Mark,

Is Australia on 220 single phase? If so, how is your your boat wired? On the cost, whatever the voltage or exchange rate it’s going to be pricy. We replaced an under counter ice maker fridge last year that was USD1500 for the ice maker alone.

Hi Mark.Your quote of "each time I get in the boat there is $$ to spend" reminds me of the saying old saying, BOAT is an acronym for "Bring On Another Thousand". But as we move up in size, it's not just a thousand... those were the outboard days.

I just had my salon fridge replaced, gen water pump replaced, anchor rode & chain replaced, cabin doors rollers and track replaced all in the month of April (and I still owed money on my taxes!).

Good luck,
Vince
