Ok, so who has the '00-04 260DA or '01 -? 280DA with the useless drinkholder?

I will be making some polished stainless replacements with Delrin stand offs to raise it up a little bit. Since there are only two mounting holes(1 ea side) this kit will include 2 additional for stability.
$285ea. Will include fasteners & stand offs.

Hey Todd, for that kind of money you can join the big boat club! !!!

You know, funny you post this as my cupholder bracket is missing. Previous owner said it was "useless". Ha! But I have a lot of other expenses before I spend it on cup holders. :smt001

Yeah. I don't disagree. I have a fabricator that I asked to quote it for me. They do great work but as you all have mentioned, it's pretty spendy for what it is.

Todd,

I am very interested in one of these for my boat as well. Do you have any designs/drawings that you can post or e-mail to me?

Todd,

I had the same cup holders on my 240DA and I couldn't stand them. Here's how I fixed it under about $30-$50. The SS cup holders I got from MM. Those were from 280DA.

Just a quick note, I didn't drill in to the cabin to secure the SS cup holder. Instead, I cut the long threaded legs and secured them to the original plastic holder. It was strong enough to hold whatever was placed in the new holders.

Alex,
I like that upgrade! I wonder if I can do something similar with the crappy 330 drink holder?

Todd,

I don't recall what the 330 drink holder looks like. If you post a pix then I can comment on it.

I don't have a drawing at this point, but the plastic holder would be replaced with a polished stainless steel one (matching the shape) and some delrin stand-offs would raise it up.

97 330 DA cup holder with similar modification.

todd,
you're pretty good with wood so why don't you make something from teak?

Thought about that and after this price I may just do that. I was just targeting a more maintenance free and professional looking "kit".
