Replacement cockpit cover for a Sundancer 280 - any ideas beside custom?
This is the cover that goes on the boat while not in use...covering all the glass and cockpit area. I lost my old cover...dumb move...and need to replace.

Thanks for any ideas.

Great Lakes Boat Top. They made the original canvas, and can make a new one for you. Or you can troll ebay and the like for a used cover.

I got mine form Great Lakes 2 years ago when they were running their 20% off special. It fit perfect. I had to install the snaps but it wasn't a big deal.

Unfortunately in 2001 the canvas for the 280DA was provided by Westland, not Great Lakes. I don't really know what happened at Westland but I think they went broke and Great Lakes ended up buying them. Someone here reported a few years back that the Westland templates for their Sea Ray canvas offerings were lost. Not sure how much truth there is to that.

Anyway, Great Lakes will not sell canvas and guarantee the fit for a 2001, at least the last I heard. Someone with another Arizona built 280DA was going to try and take a chance on ordering one last year but I don't recall him ever reporting whether it worked or not. I think he was ordering Sunshades. I don't see why it would not work but I have noticed slight differences in the Arizona 280s when compared to the Knoxville 280s but not sure if that would affect the canvas or not. If you decide to order from Great Lakes, I would order one for a 2003, otherwise they will install shock cords on the transom end rather than leave it open for you to install snaps. As I recall, 2004 was the first year they added shock cords but it has been a long day so can't say for sure.
