I have an 05 260da with the original raymarine. The bracket for the mic broke, the cord is rotting and then top it all off the mic slid off the dash hit the deck and shattered. So I'm looking at replacing it. I was looking at the standard horizon gx2200 with ais. I have a garmin 541s to leverage the ais mapping but I am not completely sure about the compatibility. I am also trying to figure out if it would be an easy swap so i dont need to cut or fill fiberglass. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this isn't what you were asking for, but Raymarine will fix the cord for $75 flat. Probably the rest of the mic too. It was a flat-rate fix. Worked out really well for me. Regarding the cradle, they do have more of those too if you really want one. I think the woman's name was Linda at raymarine... but google the ray 215 mic threads. I'll look later when I get home.

I didn't feel like doing a lot of retrofitting to swap out the radio, which was the motivation for my fix it approach on an otherwise fully functional radio.

[EDIT} Call Linda Sullivan at Ray Marine. She handles all the repairs. I had my mic cable replaced last season for $75 and couldnt be happier. Linda.sullivan@raymarine.com and 603-324-7950. Call is better than email.

Yeah I had heard of that. I put in a call to her. If she can fix the rest of the mic I will probably go that route. I just need to find a way to keep the mic attached to the dash. Maybe some velcro.
