Replace fridge with Icemaker?

I'm in the process of removing my ice maker and replacing it with a fridge. It takes a long time to make ice and I never felt safe putting the ice in a drink. It's much easier to put ice in the cooler for a day and safer to drink.

I find my ice maker very useful and its always running. When we first arrive on the boat, I dump the ice into the cooler which is stored under the single seat port side in the cockpit, I then fill the cooler with a fews brews and a bottle of wine or 2. There's enough ice for the wine cooler starboard side later in the day when the vino is flowing. I then use the ice maker as an additional fridge. I fill it with more brew - keeps them icy cold all day without freezing (don't leave them in oernight!). More importantly your favourite refreshing beverage is close by hand, no need to go downstairs (unless its for a nap after too many brews). If staying overnight, I clear the ice maker of provisions to allow it to make ice overnight, and repeat the exercice next morning. We don't tend to use ice for our drinks so this doesn't present as an issue. The down stairs fridge is predominantly for tucker, and a bottle of wine or 2.

Kampai!!
