repair cost for 98 Sundancer 270 canvas

I am looking for opinions I got a cost to replace my front glass, replace the velcro and repair all the zippers on my enclosure its 2K. It seems high to me but thought i would see what others have paid.
 
It's all time on the sewing table.

I just had two small clear vinyl side windows replaced, two zippers replaced, some patches and restitching done.
Cost me $500 (cash) which I though was high for what need to be done.

Ask the shop if that's his best cash price because, you may have to shop it around...
 
Although greatlake boat tops has very good prices. I have to say I'm not reall happy with there product. There fit was perfect everything lines up and the fabric is great but I have numerous places were ot riped at the seem after only one season. .. and it had the same tear on both sides in the same spot..
 
But 2000 seems s bit much to me to. In my old 99 270 I had the 3 glass panels changed along with one zipper and if I remember right it was just about 6 $
 
Most folks here have been pleased with GLBT, one factor they do not control is installation and fitting since the end user is responsible for that. I have had no issues in the 3 seasons I've used mine.

One thing I would like is a little more fabric for a more watertight fit but for the price I can't afford custom...

Shop around,$2500 for all new canvas and issenglass with screens ,zippers ,doors,on my 300we,that included the full camper.
 
I do understand the installation is full responsibility of the purchase. The srems that came apart were in the Middle of the canvasand in mirroring spots same seem same location Just on the other side of the boat having nothing to do with the installation. But again I'm very happy with everything else. Maybe it was just a simple flaw in the sewing direction or something. But hsd my mom sew it back up all nicey nice so no harm done:smt043
 
$2k for a couple panels & some Velcro & stitching is high. I paid $2700 for new Bimini tops installed on my arch, all new eisenglass which was converted to snaps from that hook system & my camper side panels modified with additional flaps to stop some leaking that I was getting. The sunbrella that I used is the Seamark rubberized sunbrella too, which was an upgrade.

Bet that price has a lot to do with the time of the year. May have been a lot lower over the winter. Being in the Cape area there must be plenty of shops to choose from.

+1 on that if your not scheduled around here it's a long wait list unless you know someone your waiting at least a month, see if you can make it 1 more season have the work done in the winter 1/4 the cost.
 
The original equipment canvas is available to order by the peice. It defies logic that an owner would do anything other than order OEM replacement as custom costs so much. This is not a 480, it is a 270.

I am not sure my notification were not no but thank you all for the input. i called great lakes before I attempted to fix the canvas they told me they no longer have the patterns for this boat. I was a little surprised about that since they are the OEM and this was a pretty popular model. I am going to look around but yes timing is everything. I had another company lined up but the woman decided to go on a cross country trip and told me she couldnt get it done until the end of may which I might just end up waiting for. I understand there is a lot of time involved but the labor cost break down on the quote seem tremendously high.
 
I tried to call to double check, but they are closed on Friday. I will be disappointed if they no longer have our patters as I just bought mine a couple of years ago . Why would they stop selling it? My hope is that it is a mixup on the whole 270SE vs 270 thing and you can still get it.
