Removing the Boot Stripping Decals

3M makes a product, it comes in a spray can, its intended to remove the "woody" decals off the side of a car. I have used it and it worked well, no damage to gel. Any local auto parts store should carry it. Hope it helps, good luck.

3M makes an vinal removing wheel it fits into a 3/8" drill works very good, about $35.00 at any auto body/paint supply, also acetone works good to remove any axecess vinal

I removed mine. The wheel did not work well......im pretty sure that the boot stripes are much thicker than normal decal vinyl. It made an aweful mess. I had to use a heat gun to loosen the glue and peel by hand. Took a long time b/c the vinyl was old and came up in finger nail size bits. Another thing you might notice is the gleaming white gel coat under the stripes and the more yellowed gel around it.

I had really good luck with the wheel. Most of mine pulled off with the heat gun, but what didn't came off very easily with the gun. It was definitely faster on just the sticky residue, but I thought it worked really well on the tape, too.
