I noted that some of the white color glow in the dark film has come off the needle and now sitting on the glass of my fuel guage. Is there anyway to open up the guage to remove the speck?
Ok, here goes, I had to open up my trim & tilt gauge for repair as I wanted to keep the origional color and the Sea Ray logo on the dial.
The gauges are sealed ! So I had to cut it open. I used a tube cutter rather than a saw as the saw cut would make the gauge housing about 1/16" shorter once stuck back together and made the internals a tight fit.
The cut was made about 3/8" from the back of the gauge. I used an ABS glue to put it back together. The glue actually melted the two parts together, like a chemical weld.
I did this about 2 years ago and the gauge hasn't fallen appart, yet !
