Winter has result in rust forming from scratches in my stainless steel hinges on the back of my 340DA and on the top of the boarding ladder. Can anyone recommend ONE product that both removes the rust (e.g., polishing-like compound) and also protects the stainless (e.g., like a wax)? Or are two separate products best?

I've used "Woody Wax" on my old 300DA to good affect/protection, but it really doesn't take off the rust. Any thoughts??? Thanx much!!!!

Seems to me that we beat this issue to death not too long ago. Try the search feature at the top just to the left of "FAQ".

Because the site search feature on CSR suc...uh, is not very intuitive (site is otherwise wonderful, Jim!) you may want to use Google to search the site instead. In your Google search box, type in

site:clubsearay.com "enter your phrase or keywords here"

However, you don't use the apostrophes and do use any search terms you may have. In this case perhaps steel and polish. (If you use apostrophes, it will only pull entries in which the terms you selected appear contiguously. Good luck.

Just re-read the old thread. Here is another quick and dirty trick getting rid of surface rust. Wear rubber gloves and dip an old terry cloth towel into some muriatic acid and wipe the rail down. The rust disappears on contact and can then be wiped dry and coated with the wax or product of choice. I always keep a little acid around for stubborn stains. You have to know where to use it and when not to use it, but on balance, a good product (Zing) to have around.
