I just purchased a 2001 310 sundancer. The problem I saw was there is a set in oil stain on the seat. Does anyone know of a product or a way to remove this stain? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

In the owner's manual packet with my boat is a Sea Ray/3M "Care and Cleaning" manual.

For oil, it says to use (surprise, surprise) a 3M product called Citrus Base Cleaner (P/N 76394). Also, moderate scrubbing with a Scotch-Brite No. 63 sponge (P/N 08251)

For Oil Based Paint, it says to use turpentine if fresh. If dried in, use a semi-solid stripper. Whatever that means.

Now, what would I try?

Naptha.

A light bleach/water mixture with toothpaste - experiment with letting it set for various amounts of time - 30 seconds, a minute, etc.

Goo Gone.

Acetone - but BE CAREFUL. If you've never used acetone on vinyl before, don't start now. I use this as a last resort. If you're careful, it can be done with no harm to the vinyl. If you're not careful, you'll definitely get rid of that oil stain...:smt101

Soak a rag with Spray 9 Let it sit on the stain, keep the rag saturated .It may take sometime ,but it has worked for me.

It's one that doesn't sag too much. Nothing worse than a saggy stripper.

now back to our regularly scheduled program!

are we talking motor oil or what?

So, are you saying that you would rather be talking about motor oil???

OK, you're right. Back on task:smt089

Just experiment. You may not get it out completely, but it should lessen.

Couple other ideas: "Shout stain remover" or "Tide".
