So, I have some plastic dock guard scrapes on my black gelcoat and wondering the best way to remove.

I have read acetone, is there a certain brand of product that is best?

Or would Meguiar's Oxidation Remover work better or even Meguiar's Color Restorer?

Acetone will work. Make sure to rinse with water, clean and wax over the area when you are finished.

I wouldn't know about dock rash (sarcasm), but I hear that acetone works like magic (fact).

Acetone or Goof Off. The oxidation remover is overkill because the dock rash most likely isn't scratches in gel but rather rubber/plastic that has rubbed onto the gel.

ACETONE......ANY....

I'd try a healthy dab of 3M Imperial Compound first. Acetone works, but it is harsh on the gelcoat. Wipe on the compound, let it set for about 30-45 seconds, and rub with your finger inside of a terry cloth towel. Buff the excess off, and rewax the area.

A light compound will take it off. I have also used WD40 which will not harm the gel coat either.

If you are very careful... a raxor blade works very well.
