Has anyone out there with a 550/50/52 ever removed the factory equipped Marquipt Davit (in my case a model 1200)? If so, anything specific I should know? Was it a pretty straight forward job or were there complications? Did you pay someone to do it (a dealer for example) and if so what did it cost to have it removed? Did you sell it, and if so for how much (if I remove mine I plan to sell it)?

Having the hydraulic lift, all the Davit does for me is take up valuable space ....

Thanks, Jason.

On my boat it lookes like it would come out pretty easy. Just glass over the hole in the aft compartment after you remove it. However, on my boat, I use it all the time - probably more than the hydraulic lift. I use it to load and unload my Vespa, which I keep on the original platform area. The dinghy rides on the hydraulic lift. Good luck selling it though. I understand it was made pretty specifically for this boat and the 550/58DB.
