I am looking for ideas on removable dock bumpers. Our marina does not allow us to permanantly attach (bolt) bumpers to the slips. There is decent rubber on the slips, but I am looking for some extra protection on the finger corners and to keep the swim platform from banging the dock center.

It's going to be difficult to add anything that will stay without bolting to the finger. Maybe some pics or description of the finger construction will help us.

If you look down the side of my boat I have 8" fenders along the dock and I have a large 16" fender at the 45 degree to protect my swim step. The boat is pulled forward in this photo so normally the swim step is about 6" off that 16" fender in the back.

Pack,
How are those fenders attached to the dock? OP says he can't bolt anything to the dock.

Neighbor's Cats. they are great, Let you dock by ear and there are always plenty around when you need a replacement.

Seriously can you attach anything to the cleats? That seems to be the best bet. Maybe between cleats.

Stainless screws with a washer is how they are on mine now.

If it was me and I had the constraints he is facing I would just run a line from the front to the back cleat, string the fenders along it and space them with knots. In fact I'm probably going to redo mine exactly that way. It would be a lot easier install and less hassle to move if I ever decided to.

They make temporary cleats that go down between the dock deck boards, turn 90 degrees and then pull against the bottom of the deck boards with either a loop or a cleat on the top. I believe WM carries them - you could attach the fenders to them, they are not permanantly attached, no screws/bolts, etc, and can be placed where needed and removed as needed. I carry a couple on the boat for transient docks that don't have cleats where I need them.

No bolts, screws, nails, or staples can be used to attach the bumpers. Using cats or old tires would probably be frowned upon as well...

...and some of the marinas on Monroe do not have cleats either. You must tie off on the pilings. MM
