Hi Everybody,
Bought a used 1996 Sundancer 270 this spring, it's in good shape, but a lotta little things were broke. I've fixed most of them (Rebuilt toilet, installed solenoid valve on toilet water supply, installed new water heater, installed new Shower Sump Pump, new wiper blades to mention a few) but also just discovered my Remote Controlled Spotlight doesn't work. Gonna check it out today, but thought I would post here and see if anybody had any tips.

Also, the Windlass Up Footswitch doesn't work. Gonna try and clean the contacts...

Also, the Port side Windshield Wiper Motor keeps tripping the little pop out breaker in the bank of breakers beneath the instrument panel. The motor will not operate...

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hey Frank,

Welcome aboard CSR. My spotlight never worked since I bought my boat about 4 years ago. When I removed the switch I found that one of the male spade connectors had corroded off of the back. I was going to replace the switch but a new one costs about $165.00 so I figured I'd try a repair. I ended up opening the switch and soldering extensions on the wires that were attached to the spade connectors inside of the switch. I then drilled a hole in the back of the switch and fed the wires through. Finally I attached sheilded spade connectors and re-attached it to the wires in the dash (+. -). It works fine now. Hopefully your problem will be as simple to fix! Good Luck!

Frank, we just bought our second 96 270 and this one has similar problems as yours. The port wiper pops the fuse, I have a bad wiper motor I haven't found an exact replacement yet. I will pull it for the winter and see if it can be saved. I need to replace the water heater, very simple job. I want to install a windlass and fresh water cooling in the spring.
As for the foot pedals, my last 270 had the Good windlass. The bow foot pedals didn't work. I replaced the bus ($75 from good) and cleaned all contacts and they worked.
