Definitely get that thing over to Catalina. Having a boat and access to the island is one of the only upsides to the pandemic. I have been setting up office on my boat over there 1 week a month.A little post script to the trip. It turns out our new addition was a little larger than we thought and would not fit in a 45’ slip. We moved her over to Cabrillo Way Marina in San Pedro yesterday which had a nice selection of 50 footers and the facilities are better all around. My wife was pleased with the cleanliness and purity in which the boat arrived, so apparently the journey was a success.
After a lot of research into this trip, I think we were very fortunate on the timing and going from North to South really helped. I also never would have attempted this without someone as experienced as my friend along to guide the way. If we didn't have the minor hiccup in Pittsburg, we could have nailed the itinerary which would have avoided the few hours of night travel we had coming into Monterey and Santa Barbara. I didn't have any hesitation traveling at night at sea, but coming into a harbor for the first time and trying to find a guest slip is challenging. We also found that using the SEAiq USA app on an Ipad really helped with the navigation to supplement the Garmin and Raymarine units on the boat. We don't have any long distance plans in the future, maybe back and forth to Catalina or down to Newport, but this relocation cruise was a great way to get to know the boat and what she can do.

No problem. My last post in this thread was August 19th, 2020. I have logged over 300 hours on the boat since then. I see you are in Long Beach and we are your neighbors in Alamitos Bay. Let me know if you want to talk boats (see my response to your other thread) or about your possible big trip. Thanks for posting this trip. We are considering the same voyage, as we are under contract on a 340 that is in Sausalito.
I sent you a PM with my contact infoOh, great! We are on the wait list for Alamitos Bay. We will most likely get a slip somewhere else for a few months as the wait is about 6 months. Would definitely like to chat about your boat and experiences boating, we are new to boating. Thanks!
