I have a 92 330 Sundancer with a good windlass. I am having those issues with the solenoids in the anchor locker. They are just all corroded again and sick of the windlass working intermittently. I am going to purchase new solenoids to start new.
I am curious if anyone has relocated that bar which the two solenoids mount to along with the 40amp auto circuit breaker mount to inside the boat?
It appears you could put them right inside the boat through those tambor doors and lose that space where the access panel is.
Just would love to hear how someone else did it and would there be any dangers or concerns in relocating there?

Good has changed the relay control package to an epoxy sealed design rather than open individual solenoids. You might call Tom Rice at Good and ask about an upgrade. As I recall, the new relay pack wasn't that expensive.

He said I could not upgrade mine without changing several things. I guess getting 25 years out of the current set up ain't so bad.
Does anyone have a cross reference for those solenoids? Would these work?
Look at this on eBay:

I just ordered that solenoid package from them, I was talking to Todd and he assured me that it is better then 25yrs ago lol, it was just a little over $100 delivered to Detroit, I ordered last week and I just got the email today that's its in. I just need to pick it up and install it.
Good luck with yours,

Dave

I've dealt with Good when I got one of their windlasses on my old boat. I loved that thing. They are great, and their products are bullet proof. I would follow their advice and get what you need from them.
If the Lofrans on my current boat fails, I'm going to get another Good Windlass.

Well I ended up sourcing the 2 solenoid so and breaker directly myself online. $30 later she works like a champ. Now to make sure I put spraying these down to coat and protect from corrosion on the maintenance schedule
