After 15 years it passed away, luckily it's the end of the season, looking for suggestions on what others have used for a replacement

Vitrifrigo. I believe their DP2600 model. Super easy and perfect fit. Larger interior than Norcold.

Reading the reviews, all sound good, the only negative I read was the noise level, any issues?

I can't even hear mine. With the danfoss compressor it's much quieter than the Norcold.

I replaced this season with a Vitrifrigo.....great unit! Surprised to hear reviews saying it's noisy, it's whisper quiet.

If youare a gennie every time all the time, a dorm fridge. I need to get a pic of the brand in my physician's lab. Separate fridge and freezer required by law due to the temp requirements of whatever he store in there. External thermometers showed 35 & 5 degrees F. The tech said the unit was under $400.

For fit and finish the DP2600 is a direct Norcold replacement. It is a built-in unit with a trim flange, plus has a positive locking door.

First year with the Vitrifrigo DP2600 replacement here....
Just went to enjoy a cold bottle of water out of the fridge section ... and it was froze solid.
Its makes very little noise and I like it has more room than the Norcold.

Thanks for all of the comments, sound like the one to get, Another winter project.

Has anyone considered using an AC only fridge combined with an inverter? The inverter would provide AC power off the batteries, and then revert to pass-thru mode when shore power or generator are available. Thinking this could be a considerably less expensive alternative to an AC/DC power fridge.

Whatever you do ......don't use Isotherm. Bad bad bad experience. more of a cooler than a fridge. On my 3rd one. Still not right. Do you know why the British drink warm beer.........because Lucas made refrigerators. Not exactly related.

Two issues to consider - first, the inverter will have an efficiency loss of about 10% then second if not a true sine wave output (inexpensive inverters) then expect another 10 to 20 percent loss in efficiency when used with electric motors.
Also, your failure modes increase as you are relying on the battery charger, the batteries, and the inverter to keep the refer operating.
Modern inverters will trip off line when the battery bank drops below around 11 volts so seems to be another negative to using an inverter for this purpose.
Not a direction I would go...
