How is the Vitrifrigo on frost accumulation. Will the freezer keep ice cream at least semi frozen? I’m planning to replace my original Norcold , still contemplating the options.

I hear the new Norcolds are better than the old ones but I didn’t want to risk it. We replaced our norcold when we came home from the Canadian portion of the loop in 2015 because it had a hard time staying cold when we were living on the boat opening and closing a lot.
The vitrifrigo 2600 is a lot better than our old norcold. Picture I just took is right now. Highs and lows are over the last two weeks. Highs are from opening the doors and leaving them open while I reload beer and food. Frost isn’t bad, defrost the freezer twice during our season maybe.
Our fridge is on the starboard side of the boat which faces south in our slip so sun is on that side of the boat all day. I like my beer cold so we keep it set accordingly, there’s room to go colder on the dial.

The original Norcold went out in our 2007 44DB in 12/19. I knew we were going to sell it the following spring so I put in another Norcold in 1/20. The original was better than the newer one. The door seals were terrible. Maybe the even newer ones are better, but not for me. Our 420DA has an Isotherm freezer in the galley and I installed an isotherm fridge in the cockpit. Love them both. Keep ice cream and defrost 1/year. Both run 24/7/365.

I installed the Isotherm Cruise 65 in the cockpit and so far I’m a big fan of Isotherm. I need to put a thermometer in it and see how it’s doing now that the heat of the summer is here.

I’m leaning isotherm 195 with the twin compressors. I’d like the ability to run 1fridge/1freezer or both in fridge mode if possible.

No frost at all. Ice cream is rock solid. I have no complaints at all with the unit. The only issue I had was the bump from 8.0 to 8.1 did require a 1/4” trim to the opening for the fridge.

After a bunch of research and information from my fellow Sea Ray friends I decided to get a replacement fridge. I got the Norcold DE0061 and it will be delivered in a few weeks.
I haven’t decided if im going to do this myself or find someone.

Post some pictures of what you have to do to get the old one out/new one in. This comes up a lot.

And in CSR, if no pictures, it didn’t happen!
