I hear the new Norcolds are better than the old ones but I didn’t want to risk it. We replaced our norcold when we came home from the Canadian portion of the loop in 2015 because it had a hard time staying cold when we were living on the boat opening and closing a lot.How is the Vitrifrigo on frost accumulation. Will the freezer keep ice cream at least semi frozen? I’m planning to replace my original Norcold , still contemplating the options.
The vitrifrigo 2600 is a lot better than our old norcold. Picture I just took is right now. Highs and lows are over the last two weeks. Highs are from opening the doors and leaving them open while I reload beer and food. Frost isn’t bad, defrost the freezer twice during our season maybe.
Our fridge is on the starboard side of the boat which faces south in our slip so sun is on that side of the boat all day. I like my beer cold so we keep it set accordingly, there’s room to go colder on the dial.
