I have a 240 Sundancer with a Norcold TEK 2 Refrigerator. It is dual voltage; works on battery and shore power. Recently, it has only been working on battery power and not on shore power, I have changed nothing.

Question: Is there a relay or something that may be preventing the shore power from taking over when I shut off the battery switch for the fridge?

Do you have voltage at the AC electrical outlet?

Good question. Yes. I checked the refrig/outlet switch on the panel, checked the fuses, plugged in a fan to the outlet and they all work.

Most (if not all) Norcold refrigerators run off of AC when both AC & DC are supplied. If your fridge won't run off of AC then the AC power supply has most likely failed. There are no user replaceable fuses in the fridge, but that's not to say there isn't a blown fuse on the power supply printed wiring board.

I've had this happen on one of my boats and it turned out that the AC plug had fallen out of the receptacle. If I remember correctly you just take the screws out of the front trim strip lip and the frig slides out and you can check the plug. They are not hardwired to the 110v. Some times you can find the plug and receptacle without removing the frig through an access panel. Always try all of the simple stuff first.

This happened on my old 240 and it turned out to be the A/C power supply. I had a hard time finding a replacement. The power supply was made by some weird company (I can't remember the name) that is now out of business. After a lot of searching I finally found one that met the specs and replaced it. Seems like I paid about $70 for the replacement. You can confirm your power supply is bad with a volt meter.
