Red Bull Air Races-If they come to your town, GO!

So we just had a nice, long weekend of races.

I have to tell you, this was one of the coolest spectator events I have ever seen. The planes are amazing, the racing is spectacular, and being on your boat is a great way to watch them!

They had sea planes coming in all day, they had a P-51 and an F-15 in formation, the P-51 giving it everything she had, and the F-15 going as slow as it could! Then the P-51 flew high, and the F-15 came out of the clouds, seemingly flying as low as it could right over the water going sonic. WOW, what an impressive sight.

I hope Detroit gets them again, this is a must see event!:thumbsup: (I'll get some pictures up later)

I hate to correct you on one minor point. It was not a P-51 Mustang w/F-15. It was an F-4U Corsair (the pappy Boington plane).

I must say that you are correct on every other account! Simply amazing!

I think the only other event held in the U.S. will be San Diego.

We had a GREAT time. After the rain friday, the wind saturday, sunday was beautiful. Unfortunately we didn't see anyone we knew there. The marina was great as always even though you couldn't see the course from there. I'm already thinking of an excuse to go back. I really hope they bring this back next year. Its great seeing all the people walking the streets and enjoying downtown.

I hope they're back next year as well! I'd definately go (try to get a bit closer)!

We'll need better coordination next time. Anyone planning anything for the Hydros?
