Is there such a thing? Has anyone disposed of a fiberglass boat before? Which route did you take? Seems a lot of yards want ridiculous money to remove a boat.

Labor isn't free and the EPA has guidelines for air quality at marinas which adds to the cost. I saw a 40' that required three rolloffs to hold the debris. The only thing the yard made a little money on was the metal and the engines/transmissions had to be drained of fluids. It took them four days to reduce it to rubble.

despite the sarcasm here there are a few recycling programs for fiberglass boats. Google recycling fiberglass boats. It isn't cheap. Some of the programs are run by the state such as the one in Rhode Island. https://fishgame.com/2019/04/can-you-recycle-fiberglass-boats/ see also https://www.unols.org/sites/default/files/Benvenuto_RecyclingFiberglassBoats.pdf

There are other options: you can donate the boat to a charitable organization. They will resell it and you get to write off the amount they sell it for on your taxes.
You can strip everything off of it and sell that. Most of the stuff is re-usable. People who have old boats are always looking for authentic parts (i know I am), especially engine parts. Then send the hulk to the landfill. Not exactly recycling fiberglass but at least you recycled a major portion of it.

My county transfer station has a roll off fee. Drive the trailer to dump, they drag it off, and away you go with the trailer. Price dependent on tonnage and have to be a county resident, but its the same price if its whole or you cut it up into pieces. There are also a few "you pull you save" type of scrap yards around me, who will take them for a nominal price, they make the real money for the parts that the customer spends their own labor stripping. More parts it has that they can make money on, the less they want from you.
