A friend of mine has offered to sell me his old dinghy for $100 bucks if it is repairable. He is moving and has a larger one for this 47' Carver and this one has been sitting in his basement, so this one is bound for his garage sale in the Spring..
It is an older 8 1/2 - 9' Bombadier with an inflatable high pressure floor insert. Three small repairs were done to the inflatable floor but no reported leaks in the dinghy itself (and it is registered and transferable).
The main issue is that the front portion of the floor has separated from the pontoons for about 2' from the bow back on both sides.
Since my kids would be using this, I would prefer to have it professionally repaired. Would it be worth the expense? Any recommendations on where to get it fixed around Huntington, NY or a guesstimate on the cost?
This is not a big deal for me as I bought a new Coleman PVC dingly at BJ's last year with a snap-in inflatable floor, but his would be easier to setup and takedown.
Opinions?
Thanks everyone!
Rocco
