I am certain that the Yahoo! move to remove commenting on articles is politically motivated -- helping them to gear up their disinformation campaign leading up to the Nov election. IMO Yahoo! does not want other opinions sabotaging its brainwashing attempts. My bet is Yahoo! hates it when readers challenge the 'facts' in an article, point out the fallacies presented, or offer historical evidence that the article is wrong. With so many Yahoo! readers, the poor politically motivated writers didn't get the chance to paint an inaccurate picture. Hence, the comment sections are gone.

100% Agree.

I saw an article recently that made the point that there’s only one poll worth looking at, the poll of American gun owners. You know, the one in July were millions of people bought guns and set a record for number of guns bought in a month. Now that’s a real poll...

You mean this?

That depends on how many are new first time buyers. For the last ten years households that have guns has bounced around between 37-43% and some of them are Democrats.

And when the pollster calls what do you tell them? Everyone I know will not answer any questions, guns, election, none of it.

Have read there was a huge upswing in new gun owners. Gun stores were flooded with novices reports in gun press said.

It seems the great governor is at it again reports are that she is the big impediment to a big 10 football season.

“Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith has been trying to scrape together a last-minute agreement between six Big Ten teams to hold a 10-game fall football season, according to reporter Jeff Snook. Iowa, Nebraska, and Penn State have signed on to the plan, but Smith needs Michigan and Wisconsin as well to make it work.

“This group needed ‘to flip’ the presidents at Michigan and Wisconsin to agree to play, or the new format wouldn’t be feasible,” Snook said in a Thursday Facebook post, quoting a source. “If either of those school’s presidents or both, refused to budge and made that clear to their athletic directors within the last ‘24 to 48 hours,’ then Smith’s efforts concerning the new plan went nowhere and died.”

“I also was also told that one roadblock to the new plan is the fact that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been vehemently opposed to football being played – at the high school and college level – in the state this fall,” Snook said. “Ohio Governor Mike DeWine gave his blessing to all sports being played this fall on Tuesday.”

How the heck did she get elected? She is another example of what happens when you put dems in a position of power over people. Every single example is a disaster who blames Trump.

Saw this on the news last night: (https://www.mlive.com/news/grand-ra...after-spikes-in-campus-coronavirus-cases.html ) in case you want the whole story.
"GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Over 200 faculty members from Michigan colleges and universities asked Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to mandate that classes that don’t require face-to-face teaching be fully online to protect students and their colleagues from the coronavirus."

'Tiffany Brown, press secretary for Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, said there isn’t one all-encompassing approach to handling the coronavirus. (Bold added for emphasis.)

“The governor respects MSU’s decision, no doubt made after careful consideration of all the factors facing the university. Given the current state of the virus, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. The governor and her departments will continue to provide data and other resources for our schools, colleges, and universities as they review their next steps and decide what path is best for their institution. It’s important that they continue to work closely with their local health departments. College presidents must continue to follow the science and data to make the best decisions they can to keep people safe,’' she said in a statement to MLive.'

- so apparently the Golden Girl of the Democratic Party (that wants a national mandate and policy for handling COVID) doesn't believe in a state mandate/policy . . . .
