Anybody here put long blocks or new motors in a 370? I have 454s with 2500 hours. Figure I might do a prevent replacement over the winter. Would like to go with the next gen as I have carb and the crappy belt driven fuel pump. Thanks for any feedback.

I re-powered my 400EC over the winter of 2013/14.
It was actually kinda fun...granted I had all tools and equipment available in my boat club’s storage yard.
I did stay with old tech except the new (not rebuilt) factory built GM Marine longblock are Gen 6 Vortec.
All other parts were sourced and replaced new.
I like the water/fuel pump combo except it’s a PITA to access. It’s simple and proven to work and wear well.
Brand new carbs or professionally remanufactured units with clean fuel run well and are again..simple.
I think of boats like small airplanes...simple and proven design is a good idea.
Most satisfying is nothing is rusted or leaking and all still looks and runs new after 6 years with just normal maintenance.

1100—-but it was not well maintained. Will most likely do the port motor replace in winter as well. Just repower all around...But boat we got dirt cheap so no worries. This model is perfect for our summer shore home plan.
