This might be my 1st boat, there is a good chance that I will be taking this home tomorrow. I want opinions on what its worth to make sure Im not over paying. We have agreed on $750. The trailer is included, and the motor runs but I have no idea about the compression. There are no soft spots, the hull feels real sound, no patchwork. I hope the pics tell most the story. Im just nervous as hell, I dont want to buy a boat that will never see the water again.. Here is a link to the pics: http://s249.photobucket.com/albums/gg216/bbalbano/1978 SRV240/

Please reply asap, Im going over tomorrow to pick this baby up...

If you are that concerned about it , put it in the water and take it for a spin. If you can't do that then you are taking a big chance...but for $750 you can't get hurt that bad.
When was the last time it was in the water?

Wow. That's going to require some serious work. The trailer alone looks rough to me. I'd be nervous towing it more than a few feet.

Looks like a big gamble to me. I have done a little restoration work on an older boat with an engine I knew was is operational condition (my fathers old boat) replacing flooring steering, throttle cables, and minor fiberglass work and it was a task and costly and the boat and trailer were free.

Good luck. I hope it works out for you.

He said he drove it about 7 miles less than 6 months ago, I dont think he is lying.

He is going to trailer it to my house for me, when he gets to my house he gets paid... All of the cables functioned properly and I dont think any of the floor needs to be fixed.

Thanks for the replies

Well, how did it go? I gutted and refurbished a 1978 srv300, it was worth it but everything is brand new.
