I need to check the bulbs in the anchor light that is on top of the radar arch on a Sundancer 350. How do I on top to reach the light to check the bulb? The only thing that I can think if is using a ladder but don't know where I put a ladder so that it will not damage anything and I will safe.

Can you fit a small step ladder on the floor? If you're going to use a straight ladder, just put some padding between it and the arch. Or, wouldn't stepping up on the dash work? Or a seat?

My anchor light is on top of a SeaView pedestal that is approximately 24" above the top of the radar arch. There is nothing that I can stand that will allow me reach the light. There is a label that warns against standing on the radar arch. I think that I have to remove the canvas sun shade that is attached to back so that I can use a ladder. Just wanted clarification before I removed everything.

OK, you definetely know your layout better than me. I was just going off pictures of your boat from SR and other, similar boats that I have replaced bulbs on. In this picture, it looked accessible from standing on the dash or a seat.

But, yes, when I mentioned using a "straight" ladder, that would obviosuly entail removing the canvas. If the fittings are in good shape (protected from salt, etc) then it only takes a few minutes to remove the shade. 'Course, if you have never done it before, it may take a little longer the first time.

FYI... the arch is not going to collapse. That label is more for safety than anything else.

If you will look at the base of the light, I suspect you will see a black collar that fastens against a plug. When you loosen the collar, everything above the base should unplug where you can just remove everything from the light base up:

Look at # 1123. I think this is what was installed at the factory, but I can't access the parts list thanks to Sea Ray's lack of maintenance on the parts files. Just unplug the collar on the back of the base and unplug the pole from thee base.

I’d probably try to get at that with an aluminum extension ladder by removing that back canvas and placing some moving pads between the arch and the ladder and another pad under the legs of the ladder.

Maybe you already did this, but... you checked the fuse? And verified power going to the fuse?

Yup - just pop the shade off. Unless you can maybe get the boat underneath a roof?
