I have a 2000 310 Sundancer. I am redoing the upholstery but I can't remove the back support in the rear of the cockpit. Sitting with your back to the captain chair facing the rear the panel you would lean on. Any suggestions?

Pull the cushions you sit on and look at the bottom of that back rest... there should be screws holding it against the fiberglass.... remove those and the back rest should just lift up.....there are bolts coming down from the top of the backrest.... but there shouldn’t be nuts on them.
This is how mine are fastened so guessing you are probably the same.....simple solution

I have a 2000 Searay Sundancer310. We recently had a local upholstered redo all the cushions and backrests in the rear seating area. To remove the backrest behind the captains chair, do the following. Remove the 5 nuts inside the compartment under the bench seat(next to the captains chair). Next...crawl under the fiberglass seat bottom (again right behind the captains chair) on your back..and look way up by the cup holders. Remove the 5 nuts there that you see. While you are on your back under there, take off the access panel on the starboard side (directly under the stbd post of the radar arch). Inside that compartment are 1 or 2 more nuts to remove. Once all the nuts mentioned are removed, pull the backrest straight out. To remove the stern backrest, do the following: Open the transom box and loosen both white fiberglass end panels (inside the transom box). Be VERY careful around the water connection and washdown hose on the port side, be careful of the shorepower connections on the stbd side. Remember you just need enough room on each end to get the nuts off the top in each section. Next take off the 5 nuts at the top of the main transom box area. Lastly open up the rear-stbd side storage area and remove the screws holding the right side partition (covered in carpet). The screews at top and bottom may be hidden or even buried in the carpet. Once you remove that rear-stbd panel, you need to remove the last 2 nuts up at the top. Once all of these nuts are removed, pull the stern backrest straight out. Once all cushions/backrests are out, I took the opportunity to get my boat polishing tools and polished/waxed all those areas back there just like I do on the exterior of the boat all the time. When you get your cushions/backrests back... installation is the reverse of removal. When reassembling backrests with the nuts and washer don't over tighten or you will strip the bushings that hold the bolts. Hope this helps.
