Due to theft I had to purchase new electronics. By defualt I went with Raymarine and the E125's. I just figured I had the RL 80, the E120 so it made sense to just go with the flow the the 125's ? Yes it has cool stuff . The clarity of the screen is great. The one huge issue I have is the size of the waypoints and buoys. For what ever reason the scale they are using doesnt work for me . The way points are just way to small. I actually have to hunt them down . The other issue with the HD Color radar is they use yellow , orange and red for detail and definition. The default color for waypoints is red. So on my radar in a crowded channel my waypoint is obscured. IT just requires way to much concentration looking at the electronics then before. A simple glance down to make sure ur on target is not going to work . WTF were they thinking. Waypoints should be very pronounced and scream im over here. Also the ipad apps are usless. The delays and loss of connection makes them unusable. The viewer which is a free app that just duplicates the screen view is cool but useless as the distance from the chartplotter is very limited. Ill post more as things come up.

Rob, I have the same and same issues. I think it sucks but I am hoping that I just don't have enough experience with it yet. It's definitely not intuitive but I was using a big Garmin touchscreen before. I have come to the point that I just use my iPad because if they are both on they get jammed up and neither work so I end up using my Furuno radar and the iPad for GPS. Crazy but I hope I just need to spend more time with it and figure it out, it can't be that bad. I was switching radar array out this winter to Ray HD but now I'm waiting.

I dont want to start the Ipad vs,chartplotter argument (again) alot of guys know that I love using my Ipad on the boat, I had a Garmin 4208 on the 320 and now a E120 classic its large and thats it! I also cant see the waypoints its horrible and i never use it except for radar, the heading line is so thin you cant see it either I also hated my RL70 . Hers a screen shot of my Ipad with navionics I cant see any arguement with this!!!

Yes it's the chart plotter I have issue with but I'm not going to buy the HD open array if I get rid of the ray MFD. Im thinking about going back to Garmin, I had a 5212 and loved it. Radar was okay, I do like the Furuno radar now better and I think the ray is better too but I don't use radar any where near as much as the plotter. I would rather have the better plotter and OK radar.
Joe, I have Navionics on my iPad too but what is that display on the left? Distance between waypoints? How did you get that?

Russ its an add on called Nav Module. Just go to the app store I think its $4. It has an easyview button to enlarge everything , great for old guys like me!!!! I too loved my Garmin 4208.

Thats a neat app, great add on to navionics. fwiw, the new Raymarine e97 MFD (bought from BOE right before the trip) w/ navionics maps (using gold charts for inland waterways and platinum + for gulf) coupled with navionics app via ipad worked flawlessly. Kept the Ipad zoomed out for situational awareness and the e97 tight for nav. The e97 allows the ipad to be a 2nd display via streaming wifi but I kept the systems seperate in case something went down. I have not been a raymarine fan in the past but I think they have gotten it right since FLIR acquired the Raymarine business and with the introduction of the new e series. the hybrid display (touchscreen & joystick), menus, features are very intuitive. if you get a chance to drop by a WM, you might give it a look. I have not used the bluetooth audio control feature yet.
