I have a circa 2002 Raymarine RL70CRC Plus Pathfinder Radar / Chartplotter with a 7" (diagonal) screen and a 48" open array. I am interested in upgrading the chartplotter to a larger size, probably the C120 widescreen, but am not sure if it is compatible with the existing open array. I also want to add some new features like fish finder and Sirious satellite weather/radio, or I wouldn't be bothering to upgrade (although the existing screen is TINY).

All of the new radomes and open arrays are listed as HD digital or digital - I assume mine is analog. Will an analog open array work with the new chartplotters, or do I need to buy a new digital array or radome too?

I have the same system as you and you cannot upgrade just the radar or monitor... You will have to upgrade to a new system. I sent my pathfinder radar and RL70 Plus to Raymarine for upgrading. That was less than 25% of a new system.

When I do upgrade, I will probably go with Garmin... especially since Raymarine is or going to be no more...

Thanks Doug - I was afraid of that. Not sure it's worth it to me to completely repalce the entire system. When you sent yours in to Raymarine do you mean they were giving you 25% credit towards a new system, or that they actually did something to your existing system to upgrade it?
