our new to us 2001 460 dancer has an open radar on the hardtop. it worked when we picked up the boat and the first couple of time out. the last time we went out it was not spinning. Anyone have this happen and or know where to start looking to repair

Thanks
john

Check the switch on the antenna. Ours did the same thing. Bypassed switch and it worked fine ever since. It's a little rocker switch on the base.
Might get lucky

Not questioning your ability.. but I have done this a few times... you do realize you have to activate the scanner... It doesn't automatically come on with the chartplotter.

Will try that in am

Mine was a fuse under the helm. The switch on the unit stops it from turning but allows the array to work. What does the screen say?

Check the ground for the radar under your dash too.
Had same problem shortly after picking up my 410 last Spring.
Turned out to be a poor connection for the radar's ground wore on the ground buss of the electronics fuse panel under the dash. Cut off the old and crimped on a new connector, connected it back on the buss and all was well again.

Figured it out had to shut radar off them put back on to reset it.i duplicated the problem when I try to change the screen to a different overlay the entire unit screen freezes and radar shuts off. Glad I am upgrading over the winter to all new electronics

Could be a power issue. The previous owner of my boat installed the Raymarine head unit with too light gauge wire. Was fine until I installed a radome (c80 radome is powered from the c80). Would shut off randomly. Ran heavier power feed and fixed it 100%.
