We went out this past weekend, and when I got back to the dock I noticed that one of the end caps on the RADAR antenna had fallen off.

There are no fasteners that attach it, just some silicone looking material.

So now I am in need of an end cap. I called Raymarine, got a part number, but they don't have any and don't know when or if they will get more.

If anyone has or knows where I could get an end cap, or maybe just a broken antenna to steal one from please let me know.

And.. next time you are up on your roof (or arch) give those end caps a little tug to be sure they are attached well.

Sorry for your inconvenience, but appreciate the head's up. I'll put that warning on my commissioning checklist.

Greg, sorry to hear about a small trouble. While you searching for the part make sure to cover the hole with something good (maybe shrink wrap tape) that will not allow water to enter the unit. The last thing you want is to have rusty parts in there.

Steal one from someone else's antenna.

That's what you'd do in Brooklyn.

Hey Greg

I know where there is a 480DB like your with a 4kw open array...

Rick,

Thanks for helping me score that end cap from that other 480DB. Are you sure that guy is too big to fit through the hatch and he'll never notice?

Cool. $8.00 + $12.00 shipping. I think this is the cheapest thing I've had to fix yet.

Alex, I did temporarily seal up the hole.

Where did you finally find it?

Raymarine found one. I still have to put it on, it's been raining since I got it.

I guess I'll just RTV it on there like the original. I'll be sure to prep the surface good, to get a good bond.
