Raymarine L770 Fishfinder

I'm a newer member and would appreciate any positive input you could provide.

Just bought a used Sea Ray with a Raymarine RL770 that has GPS and a Fishfinder. Seems no matter where I'm at it never seems to indicate any fish. It shows the bottom but never shows any fish. Looked through the user's manual several times but other than frequency for deep, or shallow water there didn't seem to be any other settings that may impact showing the fish on the screen. I never had a fishfinder before so I'm not sure what to expect or exactly how to set it up.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
