Raymarine i70s Instrument Display - Anyone using one?

While that is definitely the best hardware piece to use, very good design, they never fixed the programming tool as was originally told. And as a result is next to impossible to program because the files get corrupted and then get downloaded corrupted as you know. So if you can't custom program then you can't use the hardware. A real shame. Although I have heard of someone else who made there own programming tool. It was mentioned on the other popular forum.

@Dave Batistig read the link I posted above. Then take a look at the Actisense EMU-1.
I have found the issue to be making sure I have the correct file loaded for the sender I am using. This usually takes a couple phone calls to Chetco to figure out. either way...its a project.

I just noticed this post.
My system has an i70s that I mainly use as a repeater for important functions that's easy to read. It also combines with an iTC-5 to give me digital conversion of an analogue depth and speed transducers. With respect to the Aetna tachs, I've used those for maybe 12 years and swear by their accuracy. I simply replaced the Sea Ray units and used custom trim bezels on the dash.
I have not used the i70s for engine function but that is an eventual goal so I'm watching this discussion.

Not a dumb question at all. Here is the link to my plight, and believe me it was a plight ...
It was not an easy road to go down, but one I would do again. Having all of this being digital is awesome.

I have all of the engine data including engine alarms on the N2K network. This information displays on any MFD capable of displaying this data.

Thank you! I will read thru this thread. I've looked at the Actisense unit before but haven't decided to tackle this project yet.

Yes, it isn't for the faint of heart for sure. It can be more work then you think.

I too swear by the Aetna tach's, but have recently gotten my digital RPM to be as accurate. They both are using the same sender so they should read the same, but as we know, that isn't always the case.

With regard to watching this thread, it's pretty much done. You will want to read this one: http://clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/actisense-emu-1-engine-converter-analog-to-digital.101609/
