Has anyone had to have their E120 repaired ? Mine has failed, so I pulled it out, called Raymarine and gave them the symptions to which they said that the prosesser has failed. That little exersize apears to cost $1700 plus shipping and insurance. Anybody have any experience here? Any feed back is appreciated. Out of warrantee by one year.

After winter storage, on initial start up of the e120, the unit would only go to the opening page. I could not advance the unit and the unit would not shut off. The only way I could shut it off was to shut off the starboard battery. I have 2 e120's and the second one (slave) worked fine and it had the same voltage source. I went online, found a FACTORY RESET procedure, preformed the procedure. It appeared to work because the unit fired up and worked well........until I shut it down and tried to turn it on again. Tried the FACTORY RESET three more times and then even that didn't work. I pulled the unit out, pulled out the second unit, moved it over to the position of the master unit. The 2nd unit worked fine, verifying the voltage is correct. I called Raymarine today, talked to Tech Support and was advised that based on the above, the processor is bad, send the unit in, send in 1700 large, do not pass go, and have a nice day.

The only thing I can say is that Raymarine service has been good and their turnaround extraordinarily quick. Each of mine has been back for various issues. You might want to check e-bay, you might get lucky on a NOS unit. Good luck.

I did take a look on E-bay. I purchased my slave unit as a "Factory Refurbished" for this boat. It was around $2400. It looked and worked like new. That being the case, the $1700 is probably the way to go. I'm going to monitor this thread for a while to see if someone has a better solution. I've been boating since 1982 and this is the first time I've ever had to repair any large electronic devise. I was overdue. Still looking for feedback. Thanks

I just called UPS to come get it. As this unfolds I' ll let you know. Insured for $2500, ground 2nd day. $29.48 shipping.

I had an issue with my C-80. It turned on then the screen went black. I tried to reset but still did the same thing. I looked on their website and it said to send in a check for $649 (standard cost) for repair. I sent the unit to them without payment. The technician called back and said it was a bad jockey board (very common I guess). He said it's fixed and he only charged me $79 for labor. I gave him my CC info and it was returned a few days later. I can't complain.

GOOD TO HEAR !!!!! I can only hope.

Yes!! very good to hear....Good Luck, I'm not that savy to pull my new C80W if it fails

A friend of mine had his E120 fail. It initially was thought to be the back light. It turned out to me much more after he sent it back. Raymarine fixed it quickly and got it back to him. It turned out to be the power board, screen and backlight. I think it was about $1,800. It turned out that he was happy with the service.

Great news.....Raymarine has decided to repair my unit at NO CHARGE even though it's out of warranty because I had 2 previous problems with this unit while it was still under warranty. I must however upgrade my slave unit to 5.52 so that they will "talk" to each other.
