Raymarine E120- how to increase brightness?

Guys, I was on a friends '08 40DA yesterday and he has an awesome electronics suite but has no idea what to do with it. Had never even used the radar. Myself and a friend were trying to get things setup for him and his display was very dark. We found a setting for day and night but couldn't find anything like a display settings menu. I would think there is a way to increase the brightness so you can see the chart and camera when sunny out. Anybody know how to do this?

Press the power button once quickly and then twist the dial.

we did that and "backlighting" came up, it was at max (all blue). Is that the same as brightness? Any other way to access display settings like on a tv? I have a Garmin and man is it easier to use.
