Raymarine E 120's cycle on and off

I don’t think this is too far off the original topic.

Bill, this is the latest message I got from Raymarine. Based on the message I sent them what I could.

Begin message from RM
“Throughout the course of the Monday, Raymarine Product Support was unable to duplicate the weather related problem reported in conjunction with its C-Series, E-Series, and G-Series products. We are now polling all customers who experienced the problem to indicate date(s) and approximate time(s) that the problem occurred. Sirius maintains an archive of its transmitted data. When supplied with the date(s) and approximate time(s) of the failures by those who experienced the failure, it is hoped to replay this data back to a Raymarine Multifunction Display and then isolate the cause of the problem. As such, we are asking your assistance in providing this information.”

I dont know if anyone else is having luck. I for one am not. I set all graphics to OFF. ( ALL ) then i killed power to the weather module and cycled the E120 off. Plugged back in the weather. VErified all are set to off. and Bingo... Still cycles of and on. So i had to leave it unplugged. WTF..... So no luck here ... this was friday , saturday and sunday

Sorry to hear this Rob.

We experienced the same problem this past weekend as we did last weekend. For us the rebooting is definitely related to the “storm tracks” being enabled, with them off our units work fine. We did a 4 hour run on Friday and both units were fine with 'storm tracks" off.

Here is a message I got from Raymarine this moring.

Please see the FAQ on this subject (http://raymarine.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/raymarine.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1357). At this point it appears that the volume of data associated with the hurricanes that passed through the Gulf of Mexico are responsible for the problem. While Raymarine has not specifically identified which weather display graphics features are affected, it can be stated that Product Support was able to operate its equipment in a stable manner on Friday by reducing the displayed graphics to NOWRAD and then power cycling the Sirius Satellite Wx Receiver.

If you want I can keep you posted on what I hear from them.

Well... since you are back to square one, have you checked your voltage at the electronics bus under the helm?

Gary.
With the weather module disconnected electrically everything works fine. : (

Paul keep me posted please.
