we recently upgraded to e120, and i am wondering if it is possible/how difficult, to pull engine data from my 3176's to display on my raymarine display.
i have called caterpillar, and was not impressed with the info from their service department.
i am in the process of getting in touch with my local cat rep.
has anyone played with this?
any info would be greatly appreciated.

For me the issue is more about available screen real estate than if it can be done. I have dual E-120 displays at my helm but I would not be willing to give up one square inch of display screen to show engine info. Dedicated engine displays are a much more efficient way to always have important engine info at hand. My E-120s are filled with radar, chart and navigation/environment data - no room for any more on the main screens. But that's just my opinion.

Not gonna happen, no way no how.

Your engines are "pre" NMEA 2000 (like mine)- and that's the language used for the instrumentation data on the RM MFD's.

Like Seagull said, I always thought it was a useless feature for the exact reasons he stated. It would only be practical for fuel levels, which don't need continuous monitoring. IF you could do it, it would be far cheaper to buy a dedicated NMEA 2000 display rather than a chartplotter to display engine data.
