Raymarine Display Fading

I have a 1998 Raymarine TRI DATA and the display is becoming increasingly hard to read. Is this common on these displays, and can they be repaired?

I had my video board go completely out on my C-80 last year. I sent it to them thinking it would be an expensive fix. The tech called me and said no worries, it's just the Jockey Board (as he called it) and that he had plenty laying around so he fixed it for $65! I got it back and it's worked fine so far (fingers crossed).

If you go to Raymarine website, and look up repairs, they will actually tell you worse case repairs. They did my tridata last winter and it worked great.
