Since buying my 370SD earlier this year I've been disappointed that the autopilot won't follow the newer chartplotter that the previous owner installed. The autopilot is a Raymarine Type 100 with a Raypilot650 controller at the helm. The original Raytheon Chartplotter 600XX and Loran/GPS units are still on the boat, but the previous owner also installed a Raymarine C120 at some point years later. I spent the weekend trying to understand the wiring. Here's my attempt to draw a witting diagram.
It's clear the new C120 isn't talking to the autopilot because theses no connection. The question now is, what's the best way to connect them? From what I've read, I should probably stick with the seatalk? Can I just spice them together since I only have one seatalk port on the C120 and it's being used by the GPS receiver. Thanks for any advice!

it looks like Ether Net connection will allow data transfer between units. But, I would go with Mike's suggestion and call Raymarine.

Not sure about SeaTalk working but NMEA0183 OUT from the C120, when connected to the NMEA0183 IN on the Autopilot should do the trick. Those are the colored wires. You'd have to figure out which colors are OUT and which are IN, for each device. But when you splice them together, it should work.

The manuals for both units should have what each color does. Manuals can be found if you google them.

SeaTalk1 will work. Just come off the second port ST1 on either the RP650 or the 600 to the ST1 port on the C120.

If you have the cabling available you could daisy-chain the 650 and 600 back to the CC100 and use second ST1 connection on the CC100 for the C120. Just a matter of what makes for the easiest wiring layout.

Don't believe you want the +12V (red) connection between the AP and the CC100.

Did you ever get it working? I stripped out the old 40XX radar and the Raychart and just kept the Type 100 and the Raypilot 650. I left the 100 and the 650 connected only via SeaTalk. I then connected my Garmin 741xs to the in/out 0183 wires on the Course Computer, connected two common grounds and it works great. The Raypilot 650 is still needed to accept the course changes and for any computer resets.

It works! After stripping out a bundle of wires from the old Raytheon Loran it was as simple as just unplug and plug to get open seatalk ports to make all
Connections. Had this one settled a couple weeks ago but the weather and work have just now started cooperating enough to let me get out and give it a try. Now I can finally go below and take a nap while the autopilot takes me to dinner.

Kidding obviously...
