Raymarine Card Update?

Is there a way to update the chartplotter info?
My card was probably purchased in 2008.
Do I just need to buy a new card?
How often are they updated?

Join the Jeppesen Club at $89 per year. Every April they send you a new updated card (you send back your old one). Cancel whenever you don't want to get updated cards anymore.

I was wondering about this as well but was worried about compatibility issues on my C series chart plotters. Has anyone done this on a c80 or C120?

Yes, I upgraded my C80 from the original card to a new Navionics Gold card. Bought it at West Marine, for about $100. It came with a card reader, and you have to first plug the old card in, and then the new one.

The memory card needs to be of low capacity, something like 16 or 32 MB's. You won't find one in the stores, you'll have to get it off ebay or such. Download the update from Raymarine's website, get a card reader to transfer the download and install back in your unit. Not too much to it.

I did my c80 last fall. You will need a blank card, card reader/writer, new navionics gold card.
first get update from raymarine website and write it to blank card,then go to c80 power off and insert update card turn , follow on screen instructions. Then remove and put in new gold card done .

Much to my surprise, the Raymarine website has very detailed instructions on how to update with a micro SD card.

I'm thinking my card is only 2 yrs old. What would be the benefit of updating my card already? Thanks in advance.
