My C-80 chartplotter doesn't have very good contrasting colors between water depths. It's all light blue. Am I supposed to read those little sounding numbers while underway to get a sense of water depths??? Does anyone else have a problem with this? Is there a setting I am not seeing? Finally, when I am tracking my route the line created is as thin as a hair. Is there a way to create a nice thick colored route tracking line?

My C-80 shows white, light blue and dark blue areas of water depth. You can go into the menu setup and change the value for water depth color changes. The fonts are small and hard to read at times I will admit. I keep watching my depth gauge as well.

There was a thread on this about a 1 1/2 months ago. I changed my set up (very easy and took about 1 minute). You have to set your depths. For example, if you have it on the lowest setting (i think it's 7 or 10 ft) the colors will change to let you know you are in deeper water than the 7-10 feet. Remember though that your depth gauge is your best friend and is a true reading. The GPS is mapped and I think the water levels are at a median water level. At a low tide you could be considerably shallower.
