Presently, I have a C-70 with radar that I would like to upgrade on my 2003 300 Sundancer. I saw someone installed a C-90W on the same boat. Are the newer C97/C127 compatible with the older Raymarine 2kw radome classic? Would I be better installing the C-90W?
Did they discontinue the C-90W and if so, what year?

2nd question, Can I upgrade to the Smartcraft system on the 2003 & what would it entail (replacement gauges) & cost?

Thanks,
J-Rod

Can not use the existing raydome with any currently available plotter - I will follow this thread as I will be doing the same thing too - as for smartcraft, its a waste as far as I'm concerned (my 2005 has it) - I rather have good ol' analog gauges telling me whats going on

No - I believe the last one that would work is the "E" series that immediately followed the "C"

Mike is right, only E-classic series will work as plug and play with C-Series components.

If I have to change the radome, I might go with Garmin. Does anyone have any input on the Garmin line, what about the 6208 with a 11.5 inch width x 7.4 inch height? My C-70 measures 9.96" W x 6.96" H & I saw someone installed the C90W on a 300 Sundancer measuring 12.46"W x 7.74"H.
Thanks, J-Rod

I'm going threw the same thing just sold my last boat with a new garmin 5208 aand bought one with the c-70 that i can't stand i'll be putting in another garmin they are simple to use and never had any problems with it good luck

I am with IDidntdoit on the smartcraft. Digital tach readout and the fuel management was of best value in theory to me. But the fuel management wasn't any more accurate than rough calculations in my head. And you can get replacement digital tachs. Found myself pushing buttons to jump through the screens a lot more than I wanted to.
