Ray240 VHF issues: active speaker and gps no position

New boat. Having two issues with my raymarine 240 VHF radio. It says "no position" so it is not getting gps data. And I can't get the external active speaker to work (no sound).

Should I just upgrade to something else or does anyone have ideas for troubleshooting.

Make sure that you have a 3 pin sea talk cable connected between the 240 transceiver (main box) and a GPS source via the sea talk bus.
As far as the speaker goes...that could be anything from a blown or disconnected speaker to a bad connection
I love mine. I actually sent the transceiver back to Raymarine recently and they upgraded the software AND hardware for free. GREAT COMPANY!
