Ray 215 mic connector

Hello,

I need a microphone for my Ray 215 VHF. Does anyone have one or does anyone know what connector is required to plug into the connector on the radio? I can then use a different mic and re-wire.

This has come up multiple times here as the RAY 215 was put on many Sea Rays during roughly 2003~2006.

It seems to have 2 weak points, the Mic (in general) and the mic holder.

The radio and parts are discontinued. Others have had luck purchasing a new mic from Raymarine but it sounded like they may now be out.

You can probably find a used one cheap for parts on Ebay. I have seen them go for next to nothing.

Your next option would be to just replace the radio. Everyone here has an opinion on replacement radios. I am in the process of switching to a RAY55. I am having a new panel made since the cutout is different.

**Do someone a favor if you replace the radio- don't throw away the mic cradle, please offer it here. There are many members who need one.
