I'm tearing into the electronics on my 48DA and found this beauty of technology mounted under the helm. Does anyone know what it does? If it's needed? How it works? etc.

I believe it is a temperature controlled power relay for the HVAC system.
It's used to switch a heater; maybe sump or engine room. I believe the little black wire is for the temperature probe. Careful, the other wires are either 120VAC or 220VAC.
