Our winter storage warehouse is being emptied now, and Two Peas should be in the water by Friday.

I touched up the bottom paint today - basically put a new coat on top of just about the whole bottom. I used Interlux Bottomkote black, which is what was already on the boat. I used the 3 inch 3M painter's tape to mask the water line, and it seems to have turned out nicely. This was my first bottom paint effort, and while I wore latex gloves to keep my hands clean, the paint splattered off the roller more than I expected, and my forearms were covered in little black specks by the time I was done.

And here is the CSR burgee waiting to be hoisted on Friday:

Looks great.....

I'm not sure why my Droid's colour settings didn't seem to work properly in this photo, but here is a shot showing the great job the guys at the shop did on my hull. My truck is nicely reflected in the gloss:

Andrew, she looks great. They are saying the weekend is supposed to be up in the 70's. It sounds like a nice weekend right now anyway. :)

Thankfully!

Rain lasts until Friday, then we get some sun and a balmy 62 on Saturday and 67 on Sunday.

Take that, Bahamas!

Despite the 30-40mph winds today, I'm in the water and home in my slip.

You won't find nicer people than those at East Pier Marina in North Tonawanda, where I winter.

Backing out of their slip in the crazy wind today more than tested my nerve, and I had to change my plans quickly twice. I ended up reversing with more throttle than I ever had before, and I was happy to get turned around without scratching anything.

The west wind pushed against the Niagara current after turning west around Strawberry Island, building short period three or four rooters in the river. My 20,000 pounds crushed those little buggers though...

I didn't put on any professional display backing into my slip, but I'm there now.

Maybe some pictures tomorrow...

Congratulations! Does that mean your finally going to let that pretty girl out of your engine compartment? ;)

That's the crew's quarters on our ship! ;)
