I had a fusion radio installed by my marina and they wired it to battery #1( I have 2 batteries). Is that the correct way to do it? Thanks

What duty does #1 do? What style dual bank switch do you have? the #1 and #2 dont have meaning, until they are given meaning. Either #1 or #2 can be a cranking bank or a house bank or both could be using a dual purpose battery and do both, alternating.

What size/model is the boat? How many motors? How many battery banks?

Battery 1 is deep cycle.

So 1 bank with two batteries and probably a switch that has positions for 1,2,both and off?
If so, both batteries should be matched. Probably minimal accessories to be used when the motor isn't running.
Once batteries are matched, you can get power from the radio from either one directly or wire it to the common terminal on the battery switch to get power for it no matter what position the switch is in.
In general, I would start and run the boat on both batteries and when you ge where you're going and shut the motor off I would switch to either number 1 or 2 to listen to the radio.
The only possible constant draw from the radio would be from the yellow wire that provides memory for your pre-sets, but that draws so little that I wouldn't worry about it draining a healthy battery over the course of the regular season even if you only used the boat once a week or so.
