Radio Mount Location

I have a '04-240 Select, I am wanting to install a marine radio, just in case....where we boat we have cell coverage, but you just never know.....my questions are...

Where do you all think the best place is to mount the radio, I am thinking in the gutter in front of the speaker (see pic)...

Also, I hate the fact having to drill a hole through her but realize that I am going to, so I would like some advice on location of the antenna, we have the seperate bow and cockpit covers, so I would presume somewhere between the rubrail and the snaps?

I moved the trim tabs switches to the side just ahead of the throttle control and then mounted the VHF radio in the dash. I did this on my 270 sundeck and the dash is different than yours. It looks like you have enough room if you have enough clearance on the back side. Looks factory and the radio is in a normal location.
