So first and foremost, I am truly a believer now in don't do your own electronics. What a pain in the ass. But since im mid install here we go.

I have a 2000 400DB. I am changing out my Raytheon R40 for a Raymarine A125 and a Raymarine 18"HD Color radar. I get the cable run I remove the old dome and now what do I have? a mount that has a different bolt pattern than the mast. Has anyone experienced this? Is there an adapter that can be installed? Recommended?

I appreciate the input.

I ran into that same thing. Get an aluminum plate made that has a bolt pattern the same as the old radar unit and use those holes to hold the plate in position. Also have new holes drilled that fit the new bolt pattern. You may need a short spacer to lift the plate above the arch enough that the bolt heads for the new holes will fit in there. We had to put mine together with the bolts for the new pattern pointing up. Worked great.

I dont do my own electronics, IF its over the "Pioneer Super Tuner III" level of expertise. Just find the right company, my last sucked and charged me out the a**

In the same thought as radar on the arch I have need some advise. I purchased a raymarine hd radar, a hinged mount, a 5" riser. My local dealer was to install it but finally after not getting anything done they said they can't install it. I don't know the construction of the arch so can I just design a matching backing mounting plate, like mentioned in the above post, and bolt it to the arch? I also have a overheight problem so I wanted the hinged bracket so I could remove the pins and take the radar off. I saw some pictures where the radar hits the bridge and it's pretty ugly. I have a 2013 SeaRay 260 Sundancer with the arch. There were some comments from the dealer that it would be too heavy. Have any advise? Thanks.

I recently upgraded to a dual radar/kvh mount from a single radar mount. The new mount did not match up with the old mounts bolt pattern so I filled in the old holes and drilled new ones. The footprint was much bigger than the old so the old holes didn't affect the integrity of the new ones. Alternatively you could have a custom mount built to fit your bolt pattern. The manufacturer of my mount had this option though I didn't need it as I thought the old footprint was too small for my new mount. You can find them online under Nautical Creations.

I'm not sure about the load requirements of your arch but I cant image a single radar and mount being too heavy for a 260. See my previous post above. I'm not affiliated with the vendor but I'm extremely happy with the install and fit of my new mount.
