this past monday I spent the day ducking between rain storms as I ran for home some 120 Miles up the Western coastline of florida. I would have been clueless as to what was going on around my had I not had the following website's programed into my blackberry.

http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/data/paw/

this one will give you radar images for just about anywhere in the world. I used it to track the storms that where lining up along the coast line and stayed dry (almost) the whole way home. I ran out of luck when I was within about 20 mile of home.

an other option is :

http://www.wunderground.com/radar/map.asp

this one is only good for the US but it allows you to bookmark the area you boat in and Identify all stroms in the area plus give you heading and speed so that you can navagate around them.

Anyway I though I would pass these on so that smaller boat pwners like me could now have real weather radar with out the price of an onboard system.

they should work on any internet enabled phone or PDA device, enjoy.
